Who they were
From Barcelona, in the eighties she built the strongest international career of any Spanish sculptor of her generation: two Kassel Documentas, the Venice Biennale and a permanent piece in the Skulptur Projekte at Münster. Her material is iron and steel, and her recurring form the enclosure —the cage, the container, the closed place you can look at but not inhabit—. She won the Spanish National Fine Arts Prize in 1988. On the market, works on paper and small-format pieces are the way in.
