The order is not for sale
No business pays to appear ahead of another. If a paid position ever exists, it will say so in that very position and in these words. A directory that sells its order stops being a judgement and becomes an advertisement.

Listings are built from public sources, copying nobody
Name, address, phone and speciality come from public sources. We copy no text and no photographs from anyone’s website. If a listing has something wrong, it is corrected the same day.

The listing belongs to the professional, not to us
The owner can claim it, correct it or ask us to take it down. It is done the same day and no explanation is required. Removing it costs nothing, and you do not have to talk to anyone to get it done.

Your data leaves whenever you want
What a professional brings —their listing, and in time their catalogue— leaves whole, in a standard file, the day they decide to go. A place that keeps you because getting your data out is hell stopped convincing you a long time ago.

Every piece says where it comes from
Authorship, period and provenance, with whatever level of certainty genuinely exists: «attributed to» is not the same as «by», and here the two are not blurred. When something is not known, it says so.

Terms are published before they apply
When selling opens, the commission and the terms will be on this page before the first euro is charged, and far enough in advance that nobody finds out afterwards. No term is introduced at the same moment it is announced.

This page carries a date and a history
If anything above changes, what changed and when will be visible. A promise that can be quietly rewritten is worth nothing, which is why this text is dated.
What a gallery and an antique dealer have in common
Not the goods: they share fewer than ten categories out of the three hundred in the catalogue, and whoever is looking for one is not looking for the other. What they share is the standard — identified professional, documented piece, verifiable provenance and published terms.
That is what separates both of them from house clearance, from the undocumented sale and from the marketplace without guarantees. And it is the only reason they sit together here without one dragging the other down: they are not here to sell the same thing, but to be held to the same standard.

- How do I know an antique is genuine?
- By the documentation, not by the piece. Ask for an invoice with a precise description, whatever ownership history is known and, on pieces of any value, a report from an expert independent of the seller. A serious professional gives you all three unasked, and tells you which part they cannot vouch for.
- What is the provenance of a work?
- The chain of owners from when it was made until today. It is almost never complete, and that is normal: what matters is that the gaps are declared rather than filled in. A provenance with acknowledged gaps is worth more than a flawless one nobody can check.
- What is the difference between «by» and «attributed to»?
- «By» asserts authorship. «Attributed to» says there are serious indications but no certainty, and «school of» or «circle of» place the piece in the artist’s orbit without being theirs. The price difference between them is enormous, so the exact wording has to appear in writing on the invoice.
- Does Teselara sell the pieces?
- Not yet. Today it is a directory of professionals and a set of buying guides: the seller is the gallery or the antique dealer, on their own terms. Selling through the site opens in 2027, and the terms will be published here beforehand.
- Can I pay to appear higher in the listings?
- No. And if a paid position ever exists, it will be marked as such in the listing itself. The order is the only thing that makes a directory useful.
