Who they were
A Mallorcan from Felanitx. At twenty-five he was in the 1982 Kassel Documenta and has not left the top tier of the market since. He paints with thick matter —sand, pigment, vegetable material— and divides his life between Mallorca, Paris and Mali, which changed both his palette and his subject. The Blessed Sacrament chapel in Palma Cathedral and the dome of the UN Human Rights Room in Geneva are his. Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts in 2003. His painting is beyond almost everyone; his CERAMICS and prints are not.
