Who they were
From Havana, divided between Cuba and Madrid. Her work almost always starts from a minimal gesture and a visual coincidence: a lock of hair that reads as a stave, grass growing inside a vinyl record, a cut-out cloud. What interests her is the point where one thing becomes another —sound into image, the natural into the cultural— and she resolves it with very little material. She represented Cuba at the 2013 Venice Biennale.
