Who they were
Viennese, settled in Madrid since the mid-sixties, she is one of the central voices in Spanish sculpture of the last fifty years. She works with what almost nobody wants: felt, cork, wax, sand, mercury, raw minerals. She is drawn to the ground, to water and to languages that are being lost, and her interventions read more as writing than as object. She won the Spanish National Fine Arts Prize in 1994. What circulates on the market is mostly drawing, prints and small pieces.
