Who they were
Andrés Rábago first signed as OPS, with a black, surrealist line, and since 1995 he has published daily in El País as El Roto: one lone figure, one short sentence, and an entire country portrayed. National Illustration Prize in 2012 and the Gold Medal of Madrid in 2019. What almost nobody knows is that he sustains in parallel a body of painting and drawing shown in galleries that has nothing to do with the cartoons. His two houses in this directory handle exactly that.
